The 2017 program
The 2017 Unreasonable East Africa program will run between March-December 2017, with an intensive 5-week institute in August and September, 2017(dates tbd), bringing together 15 high potential companies(from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda), more than 50 high profile mentors and 20 investors, to live under the same roof in Kampala, Uganda. Our goal will be to get these companies into the best possible shape to grow. The lucky companies that are selected to attend this program will have the opportunity to build a clear and compelling growth strategy, raise the right financing, build the right teams and have a supportive community they will need to grow.
But it does not end there. We and the entire UEA network will continue to support these companies long after they graduate from this program, for the life of their company and beyond… or at least until East Africa’s problems cease to exist :).
What fellows get
Why the 5-weeks Institute?
We certainly know that 5-weeks seems like a REALLY long time away from your business. After running three of these programs and working with twenty nine other companies so far, we know that the benefits of joining us for the 5-weeks program FAR OUTWEIGH the cons. In fact, none of the companies we work with has had any setbacks or failed because they left for 5-weeks, their teams have instead grown much stronger during this period. Below are some of the perks that come with joining us for the 5 weeks…
You get to accomplish more in less time
Fundamentally, the 5-week Institute is designed to help you get done in 5 weeks what would otherwise take much longer, even years to complete. Our goal is to accelerate your efforts in building your business by converging the right people and resources you need to grow in one place at one time so you don’t have to invest the time going out and looking for them yourselves. In these 5 weeks, you’re building relationships with more than 50 mentors, multiple funders, fourteen peers, and becoming part of an exclusive network that will support you long into the future.
You take time away to focus entirely on the strategy of your business
Imagine the beauty of having a solid block of time to step out of the day to day management of your business, and focus entirely on your game plan on how to grow your company? Furthermore, imagine how impactful this would be while surrounded with just about any knowledge, tool or resource that you would need to do this? This is one of the benefits of the 5-week institute.
You choose how to spend the majority of your time
Think about your schedule right now. You’re busy. Not just busy, but maybe even the busiest you have ever been, trying to make your company work while also trying not to lose all your friends and function like a normal human being. Here’s a typical day at the Institute: You get up, breakfast is made for you. You go to a workshop and re-work your marketing strategy. Lunch in made for you. It’s the afternoon and now the rest of the day is yours to structure. You can set up a meeting with one of our visiting mentors, you can have a skype call with your team, you can hang out with the other fellows and talk about how crazy your life was before coming to the Institute. Dinner is made for you, cleaning is done for you. We take care of the details so you can focus on the growth of YOU and your business.
What a typical day at the Institute looks like
