About Us

Unreasonable East Africa exists to get early stage entrepreneurs tackling East Africa’s greatest challenges an “unreasonable advantage” through providing them with what they need to grow. How? Each year we match 10-15 carefully vetted companies from around East Africa with over 50 world class mentors(ranging from a founder of a company that has lifted over 760,000 people out of poverty to a range of different experts in the field of hiring, marketing, sales and many more), a dense concentration of capital sources(over a dozen different funders) and a global network of support at a 5-week boot camp in Kampala, Uganda. About the Unreasonable Launchpad

Friday July 29, 2016

Our 2016 class of entrepreneurs will be taking the stage on the evening of July 29, 2016 at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala, to give 5-min TED talk style presentations on their work. These entrepreneurs are not running your everyday companies. They come from across the region; Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, are driven by both profit and meaningful impact and have dedicated their lives to building companies that are solving some of the biggest challenges we face in our time. They range from a company that is utilising mobile technology to increase the access to financial services for small holder farmers to a company working to increase the access to credit finance for small businesses to one that is creating equal opportunities for children with disabilities in Uganda. These companies are at the cutting edge of innovation, taking to market products and services using business models that are positioned to meaningfully benefit the lives of millions of people in East Africa. Our 2016 class will also be joined by a select group of innovators that will be exhibiting their products.

In addition to being captivated & inspired by listening to their stories, we will have a huge crowd of 400+ people, facilitating an evening of serendipitous networking. Join us as we celebrate these entrepreneurs & the spirit of innovation!!!
